A quick and easy coffee recipe that delivers a rich, creamy texture and bold flavor, perfect for brightening your morning or any cozy moment.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) strong brewed coffee (medium to dark roast recommended)
  • ½ cup (120 ml) whole milk or choice of milk (almond, oat, soy, or coconut milk for dairy-free)
  • 12 teaspoons sugar, honey, or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon unsalted butter
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • A pinch of cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brew 1 cup (240 ml) of strong coffee using your preferred method (French press, drip, or espresso).
  2. Warm ½ cup (120 ml) of milk in a small saucepan over medium-low heat until warm but not boiling (about 2-3 minutes) or microwave for about 45 seconds.
  3. Stir in 1 teaspoon unsalted butter and 1-2 teaspoons sweetener of choice into the warm milk until fully combined.
  4. Froth the milk mixture using a milk frother for 30-60 seconds until creamy foam forms. If no frother, whisk vigorously or shake in a jar with a tight lid for about 30 seconds.
  5. Stir in ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract and a pinch of cinnamon to the frothed milk, if using.
  6. Pour the hot coffee into a mug, then gently spoon the creamy frothed milk on top.
  7. Optionally, sprinkle a little cinnamon on top for garnish and enjoy.

Notes

Do not overheat the milk to avoid scorching. Use fresh coffee for best flavor. Butter adds a velvety mouthfeel. Frothing can be done without a frother by whisking or shaking milk in a jar. Add sweetener to warm milk for better dissolution. Experiment with spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, or chili powder for flavor variations.
