A quick and easy summer cocktail blending fresh watermelon, vodka, lime juice, and simple syrup into a refreshing slushie perfect for hot days and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups (600g) fresh watermelon, cubed and seeded
  • 1 cup (240ml) vodka
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) simple syrup
  • 2 cups (480ml) crushed ice
  • Optional garnish: small watermelon wedges, fresh mint leaves, or a sprinkle of chili powder

Instructions

  1. Cut about 4 cups (600g) of fresh watermelon into cubes, removing any seeds.
  2. Squeeze 2 tablespoons (30ml) of fresh lime juice.
  3. Make simple syrup if needed by combining equal parts sugar and water, heating until sugar dissolves, then cooling.
  4. In a blender, combine watermelon cubes, vodka, lime juice, simple syrup, and crushed ice. Pulse to break up chunks, then blend on high for 30-45 seconds until smooth and slushy.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or texture by adding more simple syrup, water, or ice as needed.
  6. Pour into chilled glasses, garnish with watermelon wedge or mint leaf, and serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh watermelon for best flavor and texture. Adjust simple syrup based on watermelon sweetness. Chill glasses before serving to keep the slushie cold longer. For less alcohol, reduce vodka and top with sparkling water. Blend in small batches for consistent texture.
