A quick and easy frozen strawberry margarita with a zesty lime-salt rim that balances sweet, tart, and salty flavors for a refreshing cocktail perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups (225 grams) frozen strawberries
  • 2 ounces (60 ml) tequila blanco
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) orange liqueur (triple sec or Cointreau)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) simple syrup (optional)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) ice cubes
  • Coarse salt (for the rim)
  • Lime wedges (for rimming)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the glass rim by running a fresh lime wedge around the rim of your cocktail glass.
  2. Dip the rim into a shallow plate filled with coarse salt, gently twisting to coat evenly. Set aside to dry.
  3. In a blender, combine frozen strawberries, tequila blanco, fresh lime juice, orange liqueur, simple syrup (if using), and ice cubes.
  4. Blend on high speed until smooth and slushy, aiming for a thick but pourable consistency. Add a splash of water or more lime juice if too thick.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more simple syrup or lime juice as needed.
  6. Pour the margarita into the prepared glass with the salted rim.
  7. Garnish with a fresh strawberry or lime wheel and serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh lime juice and quality 100% agave tequila for best flavor. Wet the glass rim thoroughly before dipping in salt to ensure it sticks. Pulse blend if ice chunks remain. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the freezer up to 24 hours and re-blend with ice before serving.
