A quick and easy homemade mocktail combining fresh cherries, lime juice, mint, and sparkling water for a refreshing, alcohol-free drink perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh cherries, pitted and halved
  • 34 fresh limes, juiced plus thin slices for garnish
  • 10 fresh mint leaves
  • 2 cups (480 ml) sparkling water
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water, heated until dissolved)
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: splash of cherry juice
  • Optional: maraschino cherries for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place fresh mint leaves in a mixing glass or pitcher and gently muddle with a muddler or wooden spoon for about 15 seconds to release oils without pulverizing.
  2. Add the pitted and halved cherries and gently press a few times with the muddler to release some juice while keeping chunks intact.
  3. Pour in the juice from 3 to 4 limes (about 1/3 cup or 80 ml), straining to remove seeds if necessary.
  4. Stir in 1/4 cup (60 ml) of simple syrup, adjusting sweetness to taste by adding more syrup if desired.
  5. Stir all ingredients together, then fill serving glasses halfway with ice cubes.
  6. Pour about 1 cup (240 ml) of sparkling water into each glass or 2 cups (480 ml) into the pitcher and gently stir to combine without losing fizz.
  7. Garnish with thin lime slices and a sprig of fresh mint before serving.

Notes

Do not over-muddle the mint to avoid bitterness. Adjust sweetness gradually. Prepare the mocktail just before serving to keep the sparkling water fizzy. Chilling glasses beforehand helps keep the drink colder longer. Leftover lime-cherry base can be refrigerated up to 2 days without ice or sparkling water.
