A sweet, smoky, and irresistible maple-glazed ham recipe that’s perfect for holiday feasts. This simple yet stunning dish is a total crowd-pleaser with a flavorful glaze that will have everyone asking for seconds.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 710 pounds spiral-cut ham, fully cooked
  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). Place the oven rack in the lower third of the oven.
  2. Remove the ham from its packaging and place it cut-side down on a roasting rack inside your pan. Cover tightly with aluminum foil.
  3. Bake the ham for about 10-12 minutes per pound, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 135°F (57°C). For a 7-pound ham, this will take roughly 1 hour 20 minutes.
  4. While the ham is heating, combine maple syrup, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, ground cloves, and unsalted butter in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is smooth and slightly thickened (about 5-7 minutes).
  5. Remove the ham from the oven and carefully take off the foil. Using a basting brush, generously spread the glaze all over the surface of the ham, making sure to get into the nooks and crannies.
  6. Return the ham to the oven, uncovered, and bake for an additional 20-30 minutes, basting with the glaze every 10 minutes. The glaze should become caramelized and sticky.
  7. Let the ham rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving. This allows the juices to redistribute and makes for a more tender and flavorful bite.

Notes

Cover the ham with foil while warming to prevent drying out. Baste frequently during the final cooking stage for maximum flavor and caramelization. Let the ham rest before slicing to ensure juicy slices.
