Perfect Kir Royale Cocktail

An elegant and simple cocktail combining dry brut champagne with sweet crème de cassis, perfect for celebrations and special occasions.

Ingredients

  • Brut Champagne or Sparkling Wine (750 ml bottle, well chilled)
  • Crème de Cassis (blackcurrant liqueur, about 1 oz / 30 ml per glass)
  • Fresh Blackcurrants or Raspberries (optional garnish)
  • Lemon Twist (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Chill your champagne flutes and champagne or sparkling wine for 10-15 minutes until well chilled (ideally 40°F / 4°C).
  2. Pour about 1 oz (30 ml) of crème de cassis gently into the bottom of each flute.
  3. Slowly pour about 4-5 oz (120-150 ml) of champagne over the back of a spoon or down the side of the glass to preserve bubbles.
  4. Optionally, gently swirl or stir the drink with a small spoon to blend without losing fizz.
  5. Garnish with fresh blackcurrants or a lemon twist and serve immediately while bubbly and cold.

Notes

Keep all ingredients and glassware well chilled to preserve bubbles. Pour champagne slowly to avoid foam overflow. Adjust crème de cassis quantity to taste to avoid overly sweet cocktails. Serve immediately for best fizz. Substitute sparkling rosé for a pink hue or use sugar-free blackcurrant syrup for a lighter version.
