A decadent dessert combining a fudgy brownie base with a buttery, caramelized pecan topping, perfect for family gatherings and holidays.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease your pie dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter and granulated sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well. Stir in cocoa powder, flour, and salt until fully combined. Pour the batter into the prepared pie dish, spreading evenly.
  3. In another bowl, mix brown sugar, corn syrup, beaten eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter until smooth. Fold in chopped pecans.
  4. Carefully pour the pecan mixture over the brownie base, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  5. Place the pie in the oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the pecan topping is set and golden brown. The brownie layer will puff slightly but settle as it cools.
  6. Let the pie cool completely before slicing—it’ll be easier to serve and the layers will hold together beautifully.

Notes

[‘Don’t overmix the brownie batter to keep the texture fudgy.’, ‘Cover the edges with aluminum foil if they start to brown too quickly.’, ‘Let the pie cool completely before slicing to ensure the layers hold together.’, ‘Use fresh pecans for the best flavor.’]
