A warm, creamy tuna casserole that feels like a hug in food form. Perfect for busy weeknights or cozy Sundays when you want something delicious without spending hours in the kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces egg noodles
  • 2 cans solid white tuna in water, drained
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 ounces)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth.
  4. Fold in the canned tuna (drained) and frozen peas. Break up the tuna gently with a fork to avoid large chunks.
  5. Add the cooked egg noodles to the bowl. Stir well to coat the noodles evenly with the creamy mixture.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread it out evenly.
  7. Melt the butter and mix it with the breadcrumbs. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the casserole, followed by the breadcrumb mixture.
  8. Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
  9. Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.
