Golden, flaky puff pastry stuffed with creamy cheese and savory ham, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or as an appetizer for gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 puff pastry sheets, thawed according to package instructions
  • 8 slices of ham
  • 8 slices or 1 cup shredded cheese (Swiss, cheddar, mozzarella, or Gruyère)
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. If uneven, gently smooth them out with a rolling pin. Cut into squares (about 3×3 inches).
  3. Place a slice of ham and a slice or sprinkle of cheese on one half of each square. Add a small dollop of Dijon mustard on top for extra flavor.
  4. Fold the other half of the pastry over the filling to create a triangle. Press the edges together with your fingers or a fork to seal them properly.
  5. Lightly score the tops with a knife for decoration (optional) and brush the tops with beaten egg. Sprinkle sesame seeds for added flair.
  6. Place the pastries on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15–20 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
  7. Let the pastries cool for a few minutes before serving. They’re best enjoyed warm.

Notes

Keep puff pastry cold for better results. Avoid overfilling to prevent bursting. Refrigerate assembled pastries for 10 minutes before baking to retain shape.
