Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries, washed and dried (or frozen blueberries, thawed and drained)
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease it well.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and continue whisking until fully combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a spatula. Stir until just combined—don’t overmix.
  5. Gently fold in the blueberries and optional chocolate chips, being careful not to crush the berries.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Let the brownies cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
