These easy turkey and cheese pinwheel roll-ups are a quick, no-cook lunchbox solution that kids love. Made with simple ingredients like deli turkey, cream cheese, and tortillas, they’re perfect for picky eaters and busy mornings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large flour tortillas (8-inch or 10-inch)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 8 slices deli turkey (oven-roasted preferred)
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese (or provolone, Swiss, pepper jack)
  • Optional: pinch of garlic powder, onion powder, or everything bagel seasoning
  • Optional for crunch: thinly sliced cucumber, bell pepper strips, or crushed potato chips

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese by letting it sit at room temperature for 20 minutes, or microwave for 10-15 seconds.
  2. In a small bowl, stir the softened cream cheese until smooth. Mix in optional seasonings if desired.
  3. Lay a tortilla flat on a cutting board. Spread a thin, even layer of cream cheese over the entire surface, going to the edges.
  4. Place 2 slices of deli turkey on top of the cream cheese, overlapping slightly to cover the tortilla evenly.
  5. Place 1 slice of cheddar cheese on top of the turkey.
  6. Starting at one edge, roll the tortilla tightly, keeping the filling tucked in. Press down lightly to seal the seam.
  7. Wrap the rolled tortilla tightly in plastic wrap, twisting the ends like a candy wrapper. Repeat with remaining tortillas.
  8. Refrigerate the rolls for at least 30 minutes to firm up the cream cheese.
  9. Unwrap the chilled rolls and place on a cutting board. Trim off the ragged ends (about 1/2 inch from each side).
  10. Slice the rolls into 1-inch rounds using a sharp serrated knife with a gentle sawing motion. Wipe the blade clean between cuts.
  11. Arrange the pinwheels in a lunchbox or storage container. If packing for later, place a slightly damp paper towel on top to prevent drying.

Notes

Don’t skip the chilling step—it makes slicing much easier. Use room temperature cream cheese to avoid tearing the tortillas. For best results, slice with a serrated knife using a sawing motion and wipe the blade between cuts. These pinwheels taste even better after a few hours in the fridge as flavors meld.
