A quick and easy recipe for crispy garlic bread made in the air fryer, topped with melted mozzarella and fresh herbs. Perfect as a side or snack with a golden crunchy crust and gooey cheese center.

  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely minced or pressed
  • 1 cup (about 100g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano or basil (optional)
  • 1/4 cup (25g) grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, oregano (if using), grated Parmesan, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix until evenly blended.
  2. Slice the bread loaf into even 1-inch thick pieces. Let fresh bread sit uncovered for 15 minutes to dry slightly for crispier results.
  3. Spread the garlic butter mixture generously on one side of each bread slice. Let sit for about 2 minutes to soak in flavors.
  4. Sprinkle about 1 tablespoon of shredded mozzarella evenly over the buttered side of each bread slice.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 370°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
  6. Place bread slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, cheese side up. Cook at 370°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes, checking and rotating slices around the 5-minute mark for even browning.
  7. Remove garlic bread carefully and let cool for 1-2 minutes before serving.

Use day-old bread for extra crunch. Let the garlic butter sit on the bread before cooking to enhance flavor. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket to maintain crispiness. Preheat the air fryer for best results. For vegan or dairy-free options, substitute butter and cheese with plant-based alternatives.
