Chocolate Kiss Acorn Cookies - featured image

Chocolate Kiss Acorn Cookies are adorable, no-bake treats made with mini vanilla wafers, Hershey’s Kisses, and peanut butter chips, perfect for Thanksgiving and fun for kids to assemble. These bite-sized cookies are festive, easy to make, and always a crowd-pleaser at fall gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 36 mini vanilla wafer cookies (such as Nilla Wafers)
  • 36 Hershey’s Kisses (milk or dark chocolate, unwrapped)
  • 36 peanut butter chips (or caramel chips for nut-free)
  • Chocolate frosting (store-bought or homemade, for assembly)
  • Mini chocolate chips (optional, for decoration)
  • Fall-colored sprinkles (optional, for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Lay out parchment or wax paper on a baking sheet or tray.
  2. Unwrap all Hershey’s Kisses and set aside.
  3. Sort 36 vanilla wafer cookies, choosing ones that aren’t cracked or broken. Place flat-side up on the tray.
  4. Spoon chocolate frosting into a piping bag, zip-top bag (snip corner), or small bowl.
  5. Pipe or spread a small dot of frosting onto the flat bottom of each vanilla wafer. Immediately press a Hershey’s Kiss onto the frosting to stick.
  6. Flip the vanilla wafer with Kiss attached so the rounded side faces up. Pipe a tiny dab of frosting in the center, then press a peanut butter chip (pointy side out) onto it as the acorn stem.
  7. Let cookies set for 10–15 minutes (or chill in fridge for 5 minutes) until frosting firms up.
  8. Decorate with sprinkles or mini chocolate chips if desired.
  9. Transfer cookies to a serving platter or airtight container once set.

Notes

Use thick frosting for best results; store-bought works well. For nut allergies, substitute peanut butter chips with caramel or chocolate chips. Cookies can be made ahead and stored in an airtight container for up to 5 days. For gluten-free, use gluten-free mini cookies. Kids can help with assembly and decorating. Chill cookies briefly to help frosting set.
