These Chocolate Covered Oreos are a quick, no-bake treat perfect for Valentine’s Day or any celebration. With a glossy chocolate shell and festive sprinkles, they’re easy to make, customizable, and always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 24 Oreos (Classic or Double-Stuffed)
  • 2 cups (12 oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips or colored candy melts (for drizzle)
  • Valentine’s Day sprinkles (hearts, pearls, nonpareils)
  • Optional: 1/4 cup peanut butter or hazelnut spread (for filling)
  • Optional: mini marshmallows
  • Optional: crushed freeze-dried strawberries
  • Optional: edible glitter

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set out all toppings and sprinkles.
  2. Place chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring after each, until smooth (about 1-2 minutes total).
  3. If adding a filling, gently twist each Oreo open, spread about 1/2 teaspoon peanut butter or hazelnut spread, and sandwich back together.
  4. Using a fork or dipping tool, submerge each Oreo in melted chocolate, turning gently to coat completely. Lift out, let excess drip off, and place on the lined baking sheet.
  5. While chocolate is still wet, sprinkle on Valentine’s toppings. For colored drizzle, melt candy melts in a separate bowl, transfer to a small baggie, snip the corner, and zigzag over cookies.
  6. Allow the chocolate to harden at room temperature (30-40 minutes) or refrigerate for 10-15 minutes.
  7. Use a toothpick to tidy edges or add swirls before chocolate sets. Once firm, transfer cookies to a serving plate or gift box.
  8. Store finished cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week, or freeze for longer storage.

Notes

Use double-stuffed Oreos for extra creamy filling. Melt chocolate slowly and stir often to avoid clumping. Add sprinkles immediately after dipping for best adhesion. For allergy-friendly options, use gluten-free Oreos and dairy-free chocolate chips. Store in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for up to 2 months.
