A cozy fall dinner featuring tender pork chops glazed with sweet and tangy apple butter, perfect for weeknights or entertaining guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless pork chops (thick-cut)
  • 1/2 cup apple butter
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Season the pork chops generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops and sear for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together apple butter, chicken broth, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon to prepare the glaze.
  4. Pour the glaze mixture into the skillet and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir occasionally until it thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
  5. Return the pork chops to the skillet and spoon the glaze over the top. Lower the heat to medium and cook for another 6-8 minutes, or until the pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  6. Transfer the pork chops to a serving platter and drizzle with the remaining glaze. Garnish with fresh parsley or thyme, if desired.

Notes

For a deeper autumn vibe, add a pinch of nutmeg to the glaze or swap apple butter for pumpkin butter. If the glaze feels too thick, add a splash of chicken broth to loosen it up.
