These easy tiramisu truffles capture all the classic flavors of tiramisu—creamy mascarpone, bold coffee, and rich cocoa—in a decadent, no-bake bite-sized treat. Perfect for fancy parties or whenever you want to impress with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 7 oz (200g) ladyfingers (Savoiardi cookies)
  • 8 oz (225g) mascarpone cheese, chilled
  • 1/2 cup (60g) powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) espresso or strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 3 oz (85g) dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup (25g) cocoa powder, for rolling
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 12 tbsp coffee liqueur (like Kahlúa), optional
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Place ladyfingers in a food processor or blender and pulse until fine crumbs form. Alternatively, crush in a zip-top bag with a rolling pin.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine chilled mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, pinch of salt, and vanilla extract. Blend with a hand mixer or sturdy spoon until smooth and creamy. Do not overmix.
  3. Add cooled espresso or strong coffee and coffee liqueur (if using) to the mascarpone mixture. Mix until fully incorporated.
  4. Add ladyfinger crumbs and finely chopped dark chocolate to the bowl. Stir until a thick, sticky dough forms.
  5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours) to firm up the dough.
  6. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Use a small cookie scoop or tablespoon to portion the dough, then roll each portion into 1-inch balls and place on the sheet.
  7. Place cocoa powder in a shallow bowl. Roll each truffle in cocoa until evenly coated. Optionally, sift extra cocoa over the tops with a fine mesh sieve.
  8. Refrigerate the finished truffles for at least 1 hour before serving. Serve slightly chilled.

Notes

For best results, keep all ingredients cold and avoid overmixing the mascarpone. If the dough is too sticky, chill longer or add extra ladyfinger crumbs. Truffles can be made ahead and taste even better after a day in the fridge. For gluten-free or dairy-free adaptations, see ingredient notes. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
