This creamy cilantro lime avocado yogurt dip is a fresh, tangy, and healthy party favorite that comes together in minutes. Packed with avocado, Greek yogurt, cilantro, and lime, it’s the perfect crowd-pleasing dip for chips, veggies, or as a zesty topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large ripe avocados
  • 1 cup (250g) Greek yogurt (full-fat preferred, or 2%/nonfat/plant-based alternative)
  • 1 cup packed fresh cilantro (stems and leaves)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (about 1 large lime)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (add a second clove for more flavor, optional)
  • 1 small jalapeño, seeded and chopped (optional, for heat)
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil (extra-virgin preferred, or avocado oil)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, freshly cracked
  • Optional: 1 chopped green onion
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Optional: 1/2 teaspoon honey or agave (if limes are very tart)

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a blender or food processor. Trim away any brown spots.
  2. Add the Greek yogurt to the blender.
  3. Wash and roughly chop the cilantro (stems and leaves) and add to the blender.
  4. Squeeze in the fresh lime juice.
  5. Add the minced garlic and chopped jalapeño (if using).
  6. Drizzle in the olive oil, add salt and black pepper. Add any optional extras (green onion, cumin, honey/agave) if desired.
  7. Blend on high for 30–60 seconds until completely smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed. Add a splash of water or extra lime juice if too thick.
  8. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt or lime juice as needed.
  9. For best flavor and texture, cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving (optional).
  10. Transfer to a serving bowl, garnish as desired, and serve with chips, veggies, or as a topping.

Notes

For a vegan version, use thick unsweetened coconut or almond yogurt. To keep the dip green, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface before chilling. Adjust lime and salt to taste. If too thick, blend in a tablespoon of water or more yogurt; if too thin, add more avocado. Best served fresh but can be made up to 24 hours ahead.
